The status of education in Musahar community has been so very low. It has been found by us that only 0.50 percent children from this community reach the matriculation level. The girls, in particular, lag behind. As such, we at Samagra Seva have started a program since 5 January, 2014 named Kasturba Balika Sahyog to support education of such girls in this community who have potential to reach the matriculation level or beyond.

We have also found that about 75 percent Musahar students, who appear in the Matriculation examination, fail to get through due to lack of specific support. So, we have started at the district headquarters at Jamui since 5 January, 2014 special coaching classes for the sent-up Musahar students for the Matriculation examination. Right now, we have 18 such students benefiting from this coaching.
