“I Too Can Touch the Sky”
Objective:
To identify and enrol out-of-school girls aged 6 to 14 and ensure continuous retention in government schools.
Description:
Using extensive door-to-door surveys in Lakhisarai, Bhagalpur, and Jamui, the initiative locates girls missing from schools and sensitizes families and communities towards the importance of girl child education. Training is provided for teachers, Shiksha Sevaks, and local leaders.

Key Activities:
- Identification and mapping of out-of-school girls aged 6 to 14, and ensuring their
continuous retention in government schools. - Community sensitization programs involving parents to raise awareness about the importance of girls’ education.
- Capacity building of education functionaries, including teachers, Shiksha Sevaks, and representatives of panchayats, to ensure the enrolment and retention of girls in government schools.
Key Achievements:
- A total of 33,427 out-of- school girls were identified in the districts of Jamui, Bhagalpur, and Lakhisarai.
- Enrollment and retention have been ensured for 16,387 of these never- enrolled or dropout girls in government schools.
- Shiksha Sevaks were honored for their excellent efforts in enrolling and retaining girls in schools.
- Girls who engage in education are likely to motivate their families, especially their children, to pursue education, creating a positive generational impact.
- In Jamui district alone, 8,379 girls have been enrolled in government schools and encouraged to pursue higher education.
